Funeral services for Donna McKay Davis will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at North Monroe Baptist Church East Worship Center. Officiating will be Rev. Jon Tellifero and Kendal Clayton. Entombment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens Mausoleum in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe Lamy Lane.Donna was born on April 9, 1961 in Vicksburg, MS and passed away on May 21, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family. Donna had fought a valiant battle against cancer for over 6 years. Donna is survived by her husband of 20 years, Cary C. Davis and her son, Spencer Davis both of Monroe, LA; her mother, Frances Jowers and her husband, Gene; her sister, Kathy McKay Tanner; her brother, Glenn McKay and his wife, Jackie all of Vicksburg, MS. She was preceded in death by her father, Garry McKay.Donna attended North Monroe Baptist Church. She was a licensed practical nurse and worked in many fields of medicine. She worked in Shreveport, LA for Dr. Winterton in Pediatrics. She also was the staff industrial nurse for Cooper Lighting in Vicksburg, MS, and was an orthopedic nurse for Drs. William Porter and Jose Ferrer in Vicksburg, MS. Donna pride and joy was her son Spencer. She thoroughly enjoyed being an active part in his life as well as being a second mom to Spencer friends and schoolmates.Pallbearers will be Spencer Davis, Semaj Colvin, Dalton Dopson, Jacob Barr, Graham Barham, Antonio Gray, Ross Lambert and Braden Hough.Honorary pallbearers will be Coach Mark Sims, Coach Bucky Chandler and the Sterlington Panthers Baseball Team.Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe Lamy Lane.
